The Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at CMH will celebrate its 15th anniversary Thursday, Aug. 24, with a come-and-go celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the cancer center. Oncology patients, their families, donors and the community are invited to enjoy refreshments, door prizes and a photo booth.

The Bolivar Area Community Foundation (an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks) is seeking applications for grants from two funds. The Human Services-Community Betterment Fund is granting $15,000 within the range of $3,000 per agency. Only 501c3 agencies may apply every two years. The deadline for submitting grant applications is Oct. 1.

The Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Church on Water, 100 S. Bolivar Rd. in Humansville, on Thursday, August 10. Church on Water operates the Sharing Manna Kitchen which offers a free meal to community members from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. each Thursday.
