Blood drive to take place at CMH on March 3

Posted

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will hold the Bolivar Community Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 3 in Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Community Room.

As a thank you for giving blood, successful donors will be given a long-sleeved quarter zip pullover, while supplies last.

Blood donors should prepare the day before and the morning of their donation by drinking plenty of water or juice and eating a well-balanced meal.

Donations help preserve and save the lives of local patients. CBCO provides all the blood for CMH patients, and is the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, a recent press release said. According to CBCO, two hundred donations per day are needed to meet the transfusion needs of area patients, and as many as three people can benefit from blood donations.

A photo ID is required upon donating. Walk-ins are welcome, but the appointments are strongly encouraged in order to reduce wait times.

CMH is located at 1500 N Oakland Ave. in Bolivar. To schedule an appointment or get more information, visit cbco.org/story/ or call 417-227-5006.
