The Bolivar Herald-Free Press is asking the public to nominate a Polk County pillar, an individual in the community who has contributed to the pride and progress of the county. These pillars will be featured in the BH-FP’s yearly Pride and Progress special section to be released in the Wednesday, Mar. 29 newspaper.
This will be the fifth year that BH-FP will recognize these pillars of the community, dividing nominees into five categories: health/wellness, education, agriculture, volunteerism, and entrepreneurship.
One nominee will be selected for each category, and submitted photos and excerpts for the nominee may be featured in the special section.
Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. All nominees will be mentioned in the special section.
