It was a Saturday sweep for SBU basketball as both men’s and women’s teams beat Lincoln University. In the GLVC opener, they welcomed the newcomer Blue Tigers with open arms by beating them a combined 54 points. Women’s basketball won their game 102-67 while the men won their game 75-56. more

Despite the heartbreak ending, Bolivar recorded an impressive season with a string of accomplishments to cap off the BHS careers of 11 seniors and usher in a new era under first year head coach Jason Ingold and assistants Zach Waters and Zach Warwick. more

The SBU women’s volleyball team completed a two-game weekend conference sweep at home for the first time in three years. This included beating Nationally recognized Rockhurst for the first time since 1987. The historic weekend was capped off with junior Ella Rademaker reaching 1,000 career kills, the first Bearcat to do so since 2010. more

When the 2024 Missouri high school girls tennis season ended last week, the Lady Liberators were among the few teams in the state still playing. After earning a spot in the State Championship match on Oct. 31, the Lady Liberators brought home a silver medal as the Class 1 State runners-up for the third time in program history and capped off a season full of success. more
Friday, Nov. 1, the Monett Cubs came to the friendly confines of Plaster Stadium in Bolivar to open district play. more
The regular monthly meeting of the Polk County Genealogical Society will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7. It will be an evening of fun and games as the Society celebrates its 30th birthday. A short business meeting will precede the celebration. Election of officers for 2025 will be held. more

Saturday, Oct. 26, the Father Tolton Trailblazers brought their softball team to Bolivar with 21 wins under their belts to face the Lady Liberators who sported 23 wins. more
On Sunday, Oct. 20, the SBU women’s soccer team hosted Truman State on the Bearcat Senior Day. An early goal from Junior Tamerra Gantt led the Bearcats to a 1-0 victory and an undefeated weekend. more
Bolivar soccer is looking to finish strong as they prepare to move into the postseason. Last week the Liberators hosted conference opponent Branson on Oct. 17 in a final regular season home match where they celebrated senior night with a 2-1 win over the Pirates. more
