The 2023 edition of Missouri Beef Days will feature several new activities this year, including one very special pastime among midwestern cattlemen – Cowboy Church.
Missouri Beef Days Cowboy Church with special guest Amanda Radke, plus the Sac River Cowboy Church band, Common Bond, will be held at the Southwest Baptist University football field on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 4:00 pm. All are welcome and there is no charge to attend. Following the service, the Polk County Cattlemen’s Association will make steak dinners available for purchase. The address is 1401 S. Pike Avenue in Bolivar.
RBW Agricultural Farm Equipment Sales, a family-owned business located in Bolivar, is proud sponsor of this event. NextGen Beef Company, one of the nation’s premier providers of high quality beef products with a facility in Polk County, repeats as the exclusive Premiere Sponsor of Missouri Beef Days.
“I am excited that this year’s Missouri Beef Days includes an event that is so integral to the character and lifestyle of our cattlemen, ranchers, and farmers,” said Tony Berry, volunteer chairperson. “You can’t fully explore the beef industry without recognizing the prevalence of faith. It makes perfect sense, then, for us to give everyone this opportunity to worship together during Missouri Beef Days, and we are very excited to have Amanda Radke as our special guest.”
From her first speech in a 4-H contest at the age of eight, Amanda Radke has grown into a nationally-known keynote speaker skilled at weaving ag industry themes together with those of family and faith.
“My heart and soul are in the beef industry,” Amanda shares, “but my messaging is applicable to a wide variety of producer groups, consumer groups, families, and individuals. It is full of inspiration, overcoming obstacles, love, family, and how we can each make a difference if we first take the time to listen to God and follow His calling – even if that calling is incredibly difficult.”
Known for presenting a conventional Gospel message through less-conventional methods or in unconventional settings, cowboy churches have popped up all over the country as a preferred way of ministering to those who are more comfortable worshiping in boots and jeans than suits and dresses. Cowboy church music is often more “down home” and baptisms in stock tanks are not uncommon.
