Planning is underway for the tenth annual Polk County Back to School Extravaganza, a charitable event that provides Polk County K-12 students with school supplies and other needed products. This year’s drive-through event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, August 5, on the Bolivar High School campus, located at 1401 Highway D in Bolivar. more

The Polk County Fair’s Pie Contest will take place on Saturday, June 17. The pies will need to be delivered to the youth building at the Polk County Fairgrounds between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., with judging to follow at 2 p.m. more
