On March 13, 2024, Liberty Utilities (Missouri Water) Corp. d/b/a Liberty filed proposed tariff sheets to increase its annual revenues by a total of an additional $7,990,089 in annual water revenues and an additional $75,178 in annual sewer revenues. The Commission directed the parties to submit proposed details for local public hearings. The Commission’s Staff submitted proposed locations for eight in-person local public hearings and two virtual public hearings. Liberty proposed that the Commission limit the number of local public hearings to four in-person hearings and two virtual public hearings. The Commission will set six in-person local public hearings and two virtual public hearings.

Rita Lemmon, Assessor of Polk County, announces that the board of equalization will begin meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, at the office of the Polk County Commission to hear those who disagree with the values of real estate established by the assessor for tax year 2024. The board tentatively plans to conclude the hearings by 12 p.m. on Friday, July 19.
