The results of the Aug. 2026 polls have Missouri voting in a large majority on several amendments. Missouri voted no on amendment 4, receiving 80 percent of the vote. This means future proposed constitutional amendments brought by the public will still need a simple majority of a statewide vote to pass. Missouri also voted no on amendment 5, receiving 83 percent of the votes. This means Missouri will not eliminate the income tax and not give the government the ability to expand sales and use taxes to do so. On amendment 1, Missouri voted to keep the proposed sales tax of 0.1 percent, a tax allocated to the state parks and soil and water conservation efforts. Missouri also approved amendment 2, requiring all charter counties to elect county accessors.
