Josiah Bartgis, a Missouri State University student from Bolivar, won the Outstanding Delegation for Council on Environmental Affairs - Syria award at the Model Arab League event held at the university from April 28-29, 2023. Bartgis is majoring in political science.

Bolivar High School hosted its inaugural “Decision Day” on Friday, May 5, to honor the 201 high school seniors who have recently announced their college, career, or military plans. In addition to families, community members, and school faculty, Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson and Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven attended the ceremony to honor the Bolivar Class of 2023 and to promote education and career success.

Graduating students of Bolivar High School will be honored at the school’s Decision Day event at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 5 in the high school auditorium. The ceremony will celebrate the BHS graduates’ plans after high school – whether they enroll in college, prepare for their career, or enlist in the military.
