On Sunday, Oct. 20, the SBU women’s soccer team hosted Truman State on the Bearcat Senior Day. An early goal from Junior Tamerra Gantt led the Bearcats to a 1-0 victory and an undefeated weekend. more
Bolivar soccer is looking to finish strong as they prepare to move into the postseason. Last week the Liberators hosted conference opponent Branson on Oct. 17 in a final regular season home match where they celebrated senior night with a 2-1 win over the Pirates. more
Friday afternoon, Oct. 11, the SBU Women’s soccer team started off their road weekend with another conference matchup. They faced Quincy University and came away with a 1-0 win, defeating the hawks for the first time since 2014. more
Bolivar soccer improved to 9-2 on the season after picking up two wins at home in the last week. With their only losses coming back-to-back in week two, the Liberators have since built an eight game winning streak that includes capturing a first place finish in the Willard Tournament after three difficult games with Logan Rogersville, Hillcrest, and the host team, Willard. Outscoring their opponents at nearly a 9 to 1 rate, the Liberators have tallied an impressive 35 goals on the season while allowing only four defensively. more
Liberator soccer is heading into the third week of the season looking to pick up some more wins. After a solid 5-0 victory in the season opener against Greenwood, the Liberators have fallen 0-1 in the last two contests against tough opponents at Rolla and hosting Osage. Bolivar is in its first season with new Head Coach Jason Ingold and Assistant Coaches Zach Waters and Zach Warwick who are focused on building a team with a unified mindset. more

More than 165 youth entering kindergarten through eighth grade attended three nights of soccer camp last week hosted by BHS soccer coaches and players. Campers were divided by grade level ranges into three time slots with each section of campers receiving instruction, skill development, game play, and even a little time to cool off in the field sprinklers on the final night. Bringing back this longtime summer tradition for area soccer players, Coach Jason Ingold led his first youth camp as the new Liberator head coach with the help of assistant coaches Zach Waters and Zach Warwick, and up to 30 of his high school players from both the girls and boys programs. Many of these current Liberators grew up attending BHS youth soccer camp and showed up last week to help encourage, instruct, and connect with this generation of youth soccer campers. Ingold also acknowledged Sonic for providing coupons for all campers and drinks for the high school helpers. more
Summer may be the off-season for high school sports, but both the Liberators and Lady Liberators are putting in time on the pitch as they prepare for a new era of Bolivar Soccer under new head coach, Jason Ingold. more

Liberator soccer will kick off its 30th varsity season next month. In the first 29 years, Coach Steve Fast has led all but the inaugural season. Fast took the reins as a new coach in 1996 with limited soccer experience and was later joined by assistant Jeff Edge. Together, the two have been on the Liberator sidelines for nearly three decades. And together, they closed out their final season on the pitch this spring. more
The Bolivar Saddle club had a beautiful evening, Saturday, July 6, for their annual 4th of July All Gaited Horse Show. Showmanship was at its best as Polk County horse enthusiasts as well as those from the surrounding area, came to show their pride and joy in the arena. more
Effective as of Monday, July 1, 2024, the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program can now serve households with an income up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The previous allowable FPL for CSBG was 125%. more

The construction of the intersection at East 470th Road and South 145th Road is underway. The Bids for replacement were received on May 5, 2024, and were awarded to Hartman & Company, Springfield, Mo. The construction will consist of replacing two large culverts and straightening out the intersection. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the intersection will be under construction for at least 45 days. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are excited to be able to make this intersection much safer in the future for citizens traveling in that area.
