Bolivar High School hosted its inaugural “Decision Day” on Friday, May 5, to honor the 201 high school seniors who have recently announced their college, career, or military plans. In addition to families, community members, and school faculty, Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson and Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven attended the ceremony to honor the Bolivar Class of 2023 and to promote education and career success. more

Library renovation to start in May
Polk County Library is set to start the renovation of their Bolivar location on Monday, May 8. A recent press release stated that the renovation “is aimed at improving the overall functionality of the library, while also making it more visually appealing.” more

Missouri Beef Days 2023 will feature the return of last year’s popular Boots & Bling Banquet, to include food, fellowship, fundraising, and fun. The inaugural event’s live and silent auctions raised enough money to fund ag-related scholarships for 17 local students from the Polk County Cattleman’s Association.

Lt. Roger Barron recently graduated from the 2022-2023 Missouri Police Chiefs' Command College after completing the seven-month program. The ceremony was held in the Missouri State Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City on Friday, April 7. Barron was one of 35 graduates from across the state. more

Mrs. Joelle Smith’s first grade class at Bolivar Primary School had a mission to raise $4,000 in order to assemble and deliver Easter baskets to residents at Butterfield Residential Care Center. Not only did the students manage to reach their fundraising goal, they were also able to bring some springtime joy to local senior citizens. more
