The local chapter of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association will meet Tuesday, March 18 at 9 a.m. at Brenda‘s Café on Broadway in Bolivar. Any retired school personnel are welcome and encouraged to attend. This includes support staff as well as teachers and can be from any school district. Breakfast will be available for purchase if desired. Kermit Hargis from Polk County health center will be presenting a program called Ready in Three, which is a three-step process to preparing for a large emergency or disaster. The SBU softball team began conference with a bang this past weekend. For the first time in over 25 years, they started 4-0 in conference play, currently leading all the GLVC. This came off two road sweeps against Missouri St. Louis (UMSL) and Lincoln University. more
