Landon Duchscherer, a senior at Marion C. Early High School, took second place in the MSHSAA Class 1A State Cross Country Meet November 3, 2023 with a time of 15.55.20. Duchscherer was undefeated during the regular season and finished only seven seconds behind the three time state champion Riley Blay from West Nodaway High School in his final race. Recently, he finished ahead of more than 5,000 participants to win the 29th Annual Springfield Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. He is the son of Kevin and Jane Duchscherer of Morrisville, MO. more

Our sixth-grade boys (Class of 2030) just completed their youth football career on Saturday night Oct. 21, by defeating Marshfield 36-0. They made history as they were the first youth Liberator football team to go undefeated all four-years of their youth football career. The kids had a full night of celebrating after the game was completed. They had an on field celebration with family, friends, and fans after the game was completed. The boys received undefeated t-shirts, an undefeated sign, and then had a big swim/pizza party hosted by the Bolivar Recreational Center to cap off of them making history. more

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds deer hunters that it will be again holding mandatory CWD sampling during the opening weekend of the November portion of firearms season, Nov. 11 and 12. Hunters who harvest deer in 39 MDC CWD Management Zone counties are required to take their harvested deer or the head on the day of harvest to one of MDC’s numerous mandatory CWD sampling stations located throughout the CWD Management Zone. Sampling and test results are free. more
