The Chamber Awards Banquet will shine a spotlight on the best of the Bolivar with the BoMo’s Best awards to honor local businesses that have been voted the best by community members in addition to the annual Business of the Year and Community Partner of the Year Awards.

Get ready for the annual Country Days event coming up, Saturday, Sept. 7. The event is scheduled to take place beginning at 9 a.m. on the Bolivar square and promises to be a full day of fun for everyone. Entertainment, booths to shop at, games, food vendors and crafters, car show, Tommy Hawks axe throwing, Polk County Bike Club Bike Ride…something for everyone. Over 150 community members enjoyed Bolivar Police Department’s National Night Out on Sunday, Aug. 25. The event featured free swimming, free food, a K-9 demonstration from the Missouri Department of Conservation, a booth fair with local businesses and nonprofits, and more. BPD is hoping to make this an annual community event.

The Bolivar Area Community Foundation (an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks) is seeking applications for grants from two funds. The Human Services-Community Betterment Fund is granting $15,000 within the range of $3,000 per agency. Only 501c3 agencies may apply every two years. The deadline for submitting grant applications is October 1.
